Why we love essential oils!
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are aromatic liquids obtained through steam distillation, derived from flowers, shrubs, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. These oils are far more potent than dried herbs. The distillation process intensifies their concentration. For instance, it takes about 5,000 pounds of rose petals to produce 1 kilo of rose oil.
What is a Carrier Oil?
Carrier oils, such as corn, peanut, olive, and other vegetable oils, are used to dilute essential oils. Unlike essential oils, which contain anti-bacterial properties preventing them from turning rancid, carrier oils can become rancid over time due to their fat content.
Top Three Ways to Use Essential Oils:
Topically: Applying oils directly (neat) or mixed with carrier oils can significantly reduce stress and muscle tension.
Internally: Some essential oils can be consumed by adding a few drops to water or directly on the tongue, aiding in digestion and other internal issues. It's crucial to use high-quality oils, as those from grocery stores are not safe for internal use.
Inhalation: The aromatic properties of essential oils can have healing effects on the brain.
Top Safety Tips When Using Essential Oils:
Keep carrier oil nearby to dilute and remove essential oils in case of skin irritation.
Store essential oils in a cool, dark place to maintain their potency.
Avoid contact with sensitive areas like eyes and ears.
Pregnant women should consult doctors before using essential oils.
Be cautious with photosensitive oils, as they can cause burns or rashes in light.
If you have plant allergies, be aware that essential oils might trigger similar reactions.

Our Approach to Essential Oils:
My journey with essential oils began in massage school, under the tutelage of a chemical engineer from a prominent essential oil company. This experience deepened my understanding of their therapeutic benefits, differentiating my expertise from other practitioners.
Incorporating aromatherapy as a complimentary aspect of our services, we select oils that best address each client's needs. For muscle therapy, we often use peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus. For emotional distress, oils like SARA and valor are preferred.
Our use of essential oils is a fundamental part of our practice, leaving clients feeling refreshed and revitalized.
